Hello Friends,
Well, another week ends, and I couldn't be more pleased about the whole affair, especially after hearing at about lunch time today that due to spray painting on the ship we would not be required at work until Wednesday. Ahhhhh Happy Days.......Is there anything better than a free 4 day weekend??? I ask you???
Well, we had a slightly early start this morning to get ready to move the ship into dry dock, and where I understood that I was a little vacant from time to time, it was truly brought home to me this morning. I was keeping an eye on the rope that was connected to the tug boat, in case it got to taught and snapped, when the line seemed to have a fair amount of weight on it, the Singaporean fellows on the boat started calling out and waving oddly at me. Thinking that it was some hand signal that I didn't understand, (it looked like an effeminate man waving), I called the Warrant Officer who was supervising our goings on, and drew his attention to it.........he dutifully let me know that they were actually telling me to get out of the way because the rope was under a fair bit of stress and I was not in a safe area.
You'd think that a 4 year old child would have understood what was going on, but I, on the other hand, thought they were using some kind of sign language. Special!
So we finished with our cold move, and I actually managed to get some work done during the remaining few hours at work, before coming home and extending my current obsession with singer/songwriter Jessie J, by finding footage of her singing in Times Square train station in New York.........I've since downloaded it and played it about 42526.827 times. I'm certain that Freya is getting sick of hearing me play her album, and no doubt by the end of the weekend I'll know the words to all of her songs by heart!
After downloading the clip of Jessie J, I went to the NEX on the PSA here in Sembawang (a shop run by the Americans where they sell super cheap alcohol, and various other items....including a decent range of Guess watches), and while I went there to buy cans of drink, I ended up walking away with two watches.......they have them for such good prices, and they were both decent watches.....I think I may actually have a problem where I'm pathologically drawn to buying accessories!....perhaps I should have been born a girl??.....hmmm perhaps not!
Well, I have no idea how I'm going to spend my 4 day weekend, but surely the list will provide some time killers for me.....and I'll have to find some excuses to wear the new watches :)
Have a great weekend Friends, and look after yourselves. Enjoy your April Fools Day.
